Richard started from the tender age of 15, when a friend suggested helping out at their restaurant washing plates. This is where Richard’s passion for the industry began, he was driven to work hard and gain as much experience as possible.
Richard has now over 25 years’ experience of cooking under his belt. He has worked for Marco Pierre White’s Titanic, Quaglino’s and helped set up Plane Food for Gordon Ramsay. More recently Richard was former Head Chef of Hawksmoor Restaurants, both at Guildhall and Knightsbridge for over 5 years.
In the last year Richard and his partner Emma Jerrard, who has managed events for over 20 years, have jointly set up their own company RockaDollar.
From various pie and mash shops in the East End, RockaDollar delivered pop up brunches, Sunday roasts and private dining experiences.
RockaDollar evolved when they both shared the same passion to deliver great food in unique venues, rooftops, underground tunnels, food festivals, restaurants and pubs.
They introduced RockaDollar Dogs in 2015 as their own pop up street food concept and focused on Pimped up Posh Dogs – which Emma manages.
Richard jumped on board as Executive Chef at McQueen’s in Shoreditch, end of last year to completely rebrand and re launch their restaurant. ‘The Grill’, and it’s proving to be a huge success.
Richard currently runs RockaDollar from The Pearl in Hackney Wick and The Adam and Eve pub in Homerton, offering great food for people who love good, honest cooking. ‘Simplicity’ is the key; nothing we do is over complicated. We don’t try to be fancy, just aim to deliver quality seasonal food at its best
