To put it bluntly, British produce is in extremely high demand due to recent developments and unfortunately it’s not going to get any cheaper. Pork has been the most recent increase with huge pressure on the domestic market and production figures lagging behind. Beef is still holding it’s own with lamb settling down slightly but still at a high. Yorkshire Grouse represent great value right now, as well as Mallard with partridge still relatively new and privy. All in all it seems that quality food is now commanding a premium and as long as the quality prevails I think it’s here to stay.
