28th August 2015
Select are excited to announce that from August the majority of our standard lamb will be replaced with one of the oldest breeds of sheep in Britain, the Norfolk Horn. The Norfolk Horn is believed to be a descendent from the ancient Saxon black faced sheep that was once prevalent in Northern Europe. Although named after the county of Norfolk, the breed developed in the relative isolation of East Anglia and was the prevalent breed in Norfolk, Suffolk, North Essex and South East Cambridgeshire.
The guys over at C&K Meats have hooked us up with Norfolk based farmer, Chris Lakey, who will be finding the Horns and some Texels along with some superb mixed breeds.
